SAFE HANDS FOR GIRLS

Recently named one of Time's 100 most influential people, Jaha Dukureh founded Safe Hands for Girls to empower and educate young women and communities about the dangers and effects of FGM (Femal Genital Mutilation). Through her work, Jaha has directly saved more than 100 girls from this harmful practice and has moved the Obama administration to direct the CDC to investigate FGM’s prevalence in the United States.

Kathleen Egan is a nonprofit executive focused on management and fund development for start-ups as well as national organizations including US Fund for Unicef and the Trust for Public Land. Kathy is currently collaborating with Jaha at Safe Hands For Girls bringing insight to identify donors’ interests and needs and then crafting solutions that are mutually effective, leading to long term partnerships and support.
